How to make a mobius strip - DIY
A Mobius is a very unique and interesting shape. Of all the other shapes that can come to mind, they all have 3 dimensions to them when they are witnessed in real life 3-D, but not the mobius.
If you take a mobius and draw a line down the middle of on of its sides, it will end up having that line on both the sides. And if you then take a pair of scissors and cut down that line, you'll just make the mobius twice as big. Its a strange 1-dimensional object that exists in 3-D.
How to make our own mobius:
I recall making my first mobius when I was in 10th grade triginometry. The concept is very simple, and once you get the hang of it you can create it using more interesting materials, but lets start with the basics.
You will need the following:
sheet of regular printer paper, or any other paper of normal size.
scotch tape, or similar.
scissors - basic ones will do, but it never hurts to have more precise cutting tools.
Take the scissors and cut a strip from the paper, either width wise or length wise, it really doesn't matter.
Next connect the end of the strip to the other end of the strip, but flip on of the ends 180-degrees.
This creates a 3-d object that has no edge and only one side - a Mobius Strip.
Try cutting it, coloring it and all sorts of things, you can always make more!

- Another blog of this coriolis effect maze
one cool thing about teh Coriolis effect, it is reversed when you cross the equator. Bathtubs and sinks and toilets swirl the opposite direction in the southern hemisphere as they do in the northern hemisphere. And if you were on an airplane and ran the sink as the plane crossed the equator, it would stop swirling at some point and then start swirling the opposite direction. WILD!
